OAK Lifestyle elevates the humble backpack to a means of providing education to children. For each b
ackpack purchased, OAK Lifestyle provides a child in need with a backpack and school supplies, the essential tools for any educational experience. OAK partners with Africa New Life, an organization that sponsors education from primary school through high school graduation for thousands of students in four communities in Rwanda. The organization also offers a vocational training program to women, many of whom are HIV positive, teaching them a tailoring trade to help them support their families. OAK Lifestyle provides work for the seamstresses sewing the give-away backpacks.

In a reach-out closer to home, OAK works with the nonprofit organization CapCityKids in Austin, Texa
s that gives thousands of backpacks and school supplies to homeless kids each school year. OAK's yearly sales contribute to the annual drive, thus lifting the burden of purchasing school supplies from homeless families. In addition to solving a short-term crisis, CapCityKids helps these children with long-term programs for their continued educational success. For one last dose of kindness, OAK includes a pouch on each backpack designated for holding the means to perform quick acts of giving, be it a few dollars to donate in a pinch, a snack to share with a person in need, or a phone to call for help for someone in distress. Spreading kindness, it's all a part of the Lifestyle.

Our founders are ordinary people from Austin, Texas. We came together to form OAK because we believe that world changes aren't made by large gestures alone, they are made in all of the little things we do every day.
We are inspired by the many people around us who choose to put others first - whether it be bringing someone a meal, volunteering for a local non-profit, or mowing a neighbor's yard. We launched OAK to give people another way to practice kindness with an everyday purchase. With the help of our committed OAK community, we're able to extend the kindness into the world
through our local and global partnerships.
Who are we? We are a baseball fan, a blue collar worker, a control freak, and a marathoner…we are just ordinary people who look at the glass as half full. We started OAK to give you an opportunity to give back, hoping that you will keep looking for ways to be kind, with a pipedream that you will inspire others to do the same.
