ABOUT The People's Movement
WHY WE LOVE THEM
 Community
The People's Movement is creating just that a movement within their community. They orchestrate and participate in events in partnership with various music groups to bring awareness to their cause. In their last partnership with nonprofit organization Los Angeles Mission and band AWOLNATION, The People's Movement donated 200 pairs of shoes to homeless people living on the streets of downtown L.A.'s Skid Row. This summer, they are taking the movement on tour with band Foster the People for their DoGoodProject. The project supports schools and helps the homeless in various ways, such as promoting art by having students paint shoes and surfboards to put up for auction.
 Eco-Friendly
One thing you can be sure of, their products aren't plastic. Well, not in its traditional form. The People's Movement proudly uses organic, repurposed and eco-friendly materials in their shoe construction whenever possible to lessen the impact on the environment. Some nifty eco-friendly shoe features include organic canvas uppers, water based glues, nickel free eyelets and natural dyes. As a play on their cause, select models are made from an up-cycled plastic material and packaged in a reusable tote made from the same fabric.
 Humanitarian
Taking the problem of single use plastic by the bottleneck, The People's Movement is dedicated to stopping the problem at the source and fighting against continued plastic production. They partner with the Plastic Pollution Coalition, a group committed to seeing the toxic effects of plastic on humans, animals and the environment cease. To aid in the Coalition's efforts, The People's Movement donates $1 from the sale of each shoe from their Clean Act Collection to the organization. Proving they are more than just a movement, The People's Movement also attacks the issue from the educational side by using in-store displays to illustrate the impact of plastic in the oceans.

The People's Movement stand for ideas that lead to positive change and partner with grass root groups struggling to get these messages out. We stand for using organic, recycled and re-purposed materials in our products where ever possible and are constantly searching for the better option. Some of the eco-friendly features include organic cotton canvas, water based glues, natural dyes, and nickel free eyelets.The Clean Act collection takes plastic bags polluting the island of Bali and up-cycles them into reusable totes and fabrics for our shoes. With every pair sold from the "Clean Act" collection, we donate $1 to the Plastic Pollution Coalition, a group dedicated to stopping plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on humans, animals and the environment!
