Three brothers who have grown up in the wood industry started proof in January of 2011. Their grandpa started a small sawmill that has grown into a large family business. The three Dame Brothers have a love for skiing and traveling around the world. They love being in a business where they can give back to nature and give to those in need. A large portion of Proofs profits go to sight giving surgeries to people in India. All of the sunglasses are produced with the finest hard woods available such as bamboo, ebony, lace wood and many more. Proof also offers the additional option to have any of these woods stained. During the process of manufacturing, all of the wood goes through a rigorous treatment process to make the detail of the wood more vibrant and the structure more durable. Each pair of sunglasses is hand made with top quality craftsmanship. Since the glasses are made out of wood and are handmade, no two pairs are exactly alike. To make each pair more unique is a laser engraved logo, model name, and customized quote varying from model to model. Proof prides themselves in manufacturing top of the line products and the lenses are no exception. All lenses are polycarbonate, 100% UVA and UVB protected with the option of having them polarized. Proof also offers a variety of mirrored lenses along with your standard grays and blacks. From the day the first pair of Proofs sold, they have been involved in different charitable opportunities and ways to give back. Proof provides a sight giving surgery to people in India who can’t afford it. Typically these are cataract surgeries that can be fixed easily with the right amenities. For every pair of shades sold, one of these sight-giving surgeries is funded for a person in need. Proof is always looking for opportunities to serve in its local communities and throughout the world. We at Proof pride ourselves in using sustainable wood. We look for opportunities to help in humanitarian efforts and also believe the element of wood gives back to Mother Nature. The wood that is used in our shades is replanted for our future enjoyment.
