On a trip to Laos in 2008, Mallory Brown was surprised to learn that for many families, the most desperate need was not food, not water, but clean clothing. 40% of the world's population survives on less than $2 per day, and for millions, this means going without one of our most basic needs, a clean change of clothes. Mallory started World Clothes Line two years later with one big goal: clothe the world. For every item of clothing you buy, World Clothes Line gives an equivalent item of clothing to someone in need. They keep it personal, hand-delivering all clothes themselves whether this means helping out at a BBQ in Detroit or making the two-day journey to the remote village of Rakachaka, Peru and they keep it local, using high-quality garments made sustainably and sweatshop-free in the USA. So fresh, so clean. |
