There's a new giving tree on the block, kids, and it's called Jatalo. Jatalo means banyan tree, which in Indian culture symbolizes trade, education and enlightenment. Fittingly, the company Jatalo designs and markets culturally inspired products to support the education of underprivileged children around the world. With a donation model as unique as their name, Jatalo aims to directly combat the issue. For every bracelet they sell, they donate one textbook to a child in need. For every backpack they sell, they donate a years worth of textbooks to a child in need. They work directly with schools in India, Thailand, Haiti and Tanzania to distribute textbooks to needy children. Brains over brawn, any day. |

From cover to cover, Jatalo reads green. All aspects of its operation, including production, marketing and logistics are executed with environmental consciousness. Exercising the only acceptable form of discrimination, Jatalo works solely with green manufacturers. |
